VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
September & October 2010 Projects & Events...
We are having an educational workshop and a fundraiser on 9/16/10 and 10/1/10, respectively. We need people to help out as follows:
- TUESDAY, SEPT. 7, 7:00 PM, Mailing Party, SWAN Central, 141 Demarest Ave., Hillsdale, NJ - mailing of two event flyers to list of 850 households. We will need labeling and sealing only as we are having our printer pre-fold and collate the two pages of the mailer.
- TUESDAY, SEPT. 14, 7:00 PM, SWAN Central - training session for volunteers who will work at one or both of our upcoming events.
- THURSDAY, SEPT. 16, 6:30 PM, Threefold Educational Center auditorium, Hungry Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY - event starts at 7:00 PM. We need a few people-persons to meet and greet participants at the SWAN info table. You will check off pre-registered folks, hand out materials, and do minor crowd control.
- FRIDAY,OCT. 1, 6:00 PM (latest), Church of the Holy Communion, Summit & Blanche Aves., Norwood, NJ - event starts at 8:00 PM. Help us set-up and prepare for our storytelling and art fundraiser. We need people to put up decorations, arrange info and food tables, help with parking, sell tickets, monitor those entering, usher, and facilitate program logistics.

WANTED:
ARTISTS / PHOTOGRAPHERS / SCULPTORS... for Bergen SWAN's Hackensack River StoryNight fundraiser on 10/1/10. We are recruiting works inspired by the Hackensack River and tributaries, or other local waterways to have on display at a special art sale at our event. Artists are asked to donate a nominal fee to Bergen SWAN for any works sold (see full details under our Resources page). The show will continue at the Haworth Public Library throughout October. MUSICIANS...STRING INSTRUMENTS AND/OR WOODWINDS... for StoryNight event on 10/1/10. Do you play violin, cello, flute or some other instrument that can evoke water? We are looking for one or two talented players to provide water-inspired music during portions of the story readings, including improvisation behind the readers as they talk.
